Since nearly the founding of Friends of the Children's Advocacy Center in 1989, throughout our time as Friends of the Children's Justice Center of West Hawai‘i and then Friends of the Children of West Hawai‘i, the organization has held an annual school supply drive and distribution project for children in West Hawai‘i - and GET READY HAWAI‘I is proud to be continuing that tradition!

In 2021, with the change to Get Ready Hawai‘i, the annual project that had previously been known as "Supply Our Students" was rebranded as "Get Ready For School" and we are proud to be continuing the program through 2024 with our partners at Keauhou Shopping Center. During July 2024 donations of school supplies can be dropped off at businesses in Keauhou Shopping Center for the Get Ready for School project.

Typically our annual school supply drive provides supplies to an average of 300 children each year. This includes a new backpack filled with the supplies that children will need for the upcoming school year. It costs roughly $25 per child to purchase supplies for those who would like to make a financial donation to support the project. Credit card donations can be made through the PayPal "Donate Now" link at the bottom of the page.

If you are a child, a parent of a child, or a youth serving professional who would like to request assistance from Get Ready For School, please click the link below and complete the request form. Please note that you may complete the form multiple times for multiple children, however the form must be completed separately for each child. School supplies will be distributed through events to be scheduled throughout July and early August of 2024, including the KidX Back-to-School Bash at Keauhou Shopping Center on August 3, or we will reach out to you by email to arrange pickup of supplies if you are unable to attend an event.
